AI for Database changelog

New features and improvements, newest first. Last updated .

October 2026

  1. New

Report a problem from your AI assistant

If something goes wrong while you use AI for Database from Claude or ChatGPT, you can now report it right from the chat. The team gets the details so it can follow up.

  2. New

See your Claude and ChatGPT questions in the app

A new AI assistants page groups the questions you ask from Claude or ChatGPT into conversations. For each one you can see the question, the SQL, the rows returned and how long it took, and re-run it for live results.

  3. New

Use AI for Database from Grok

The AI connector page now has step-by-step setup for Grok, alongside Claude and ChatGPT. Ask your databases questions from the assistant you already use.

  4. Improved

Clearer help when connecting a hosted PostgreSQL database

If your hosted PostgreSQL provider needs a different connection address, setup now points you to the right one instead of leaving you guessing.

  5. Improved

    Smoother database connection setup

Connecting a database now checks access up front and gives specific, step-by-step guidance when something needs attention, so more first connections succeed on the first try.

September 2026

  1. New

Send feature requests from your AI assistant

Tell the team what you want next without leaving Claude or ChatGPT. Requests are only sent when you ask for it.

  2. New

Use AI for Database from Claude and ChatGPT

Connect AI for Database to Claude or ChatGPT and ask your databases questions, run read-only SQL, check dashboards and set up alerts without leaving your assistant. It uses your existing connections and credits.

  3. Improved

Easier to build on the API

The API now has a published OpenAPI contract and read-only documentation tools for AI agents. Query submissions can also be retried without running twice.

  4. Improved

Simpler pricing with Pro and Team

Pricing is now Pro at $20 and Team at $50 per user per month, with 20% off annual billing. Every user has their own credit balance, and credits never expire.

August 2026

  1. Improved

A clear path from sample data to your own database

After your first answer on the sample database, you now get a prompt to connect your own data when you are ready.

  2. New

Create and manage alerts through the API

AI agents and scripts can now preview a data alert, publish it and manage existing alerts. The API reference has been expanded with worked examples.

July 2026

  1. New

Set up webhook alerts right in chat

Ask for an alert in plain English and configure the full webhook setup in the conversation, including custom authorization headers for the receiving service. Webhook delivery is also more dependable.

  2. New

Retry an answer and rate responses

If an answer is not what you wanted, retry it with one click. You can also give quick feedback on any response.

  3. Improved

See why a connection needs attention

When a database connection has trouble, the last error now shows on the connection, with copy-and-paste steps to fix it. You can also get notified when a connection stops working.

  4. Improved

Sample data when you have no connection yet

If you open chat before connecting a database, one click loads sample data so you can try a question right away.

  5. New

Query Sentry data in plain English

Connect Sentry and ask about issues, events, releases and project health the same way you query a database.

  6. New

Suggested questions based on your data

A new chat starts with example questions drawn from the tables in your connected database, so you know what to ask first.

  7. Improved

A plain-English summary with every answer

Each answer now includes a short, readable description of how it was produced, next to the SQL and rows, so you can check the work.

  8. Improved

    A fresh new look

The app and emails have been redesigned with clearer typography, calmer color and more readable screens across Ask, dashboards, connections, workflows and settings.

  9. Improved

Switch data source from the top bar

Pick which database you are asking about from the top of the chat. The selector follows the conversation when you reopen an older chat.

  10. New

Build alerts as a sentence, then dry run

Workflows now read like a sentence: when this happens, check this, tell that person. A dry run shows whether the alert would fire right now and who would receive it.

  11. New

    Audit log for your workspace

Review who asked what and when, filter by time, person and source, and export the log to CSV. Queries are marked as verified, blocked or errored.

  12. Improved

Clear explanations when a connection test fails

A failed connection test now tells you which step failed and what to change, with fix steps filled in using your own host, database and user.

June 2026

  1. New

Cleaner charts and "Explain this to me"

Dashboard charts have been redesigned for readability. Click into any chart and ask for an explanation of what it shows.

  2. Improved

More control over charts on dashboards

When you save a chat answer to a dashboard, the right connection is now selected automatically and you choose the chart type.

  3. New

Try it on a sample database

Ask questions of a built-in sample database in the playground before you connect anything of your own.

April 2026

  1. Improved

Skip the database step and come back later

Onboarding now lets you skip connecting a database and finish it later, and adds a support popover if you get stuck.

  2. New

Book a demo with the team

Schedule a demo straight from the app or the website if you would like a walkthrough.

March 2026

  1. Improved

    A better onboarding demo

The onboarding demo was reworked to show the ask, chart and alert flow more clearly.

  2. New

    Connect Google Sheets

Use a Google Sheet as a data source and ask questions of it like any database. Onboarding connection steps were also redesigned.

  3. Improved

    Faster dashboards

Dashboard widgets now load together, so dashboards with many charts appear sooner.

  4. New

Workflows at project or connection level

Choose whether a workflow applies across a whole project or to a single database connection.

  5. Improved

    A simpler, more guided onboarding

The first-run experience was rebuilt in several passes to get you from signup to your first answer faster, with fixes to common connection problems.

  6. New

    Organize your work in projects

Group connections, dashboards and workflows into projects, and nest projects to match how your team works.

  7. New

    Analytics platforms and setup guides

Connect Mixpanel and other analytics platforms alongside your databases, with step-by-step guides for finding the right credentials.

  8. New

A public API for apps and AI agents

Use the REST API to run questions, manage connections and drive workflows from your own tools. A new agents page explains how.

  9. Improved

    Dashboards overhaul

Dashboards were rebuilt with richer widgets and clearer layouts.

  10. New

    Scheduled workflows and email alerts

Run a check on a schedule and get an email when it finds something. Each run is logged so you can see what happened.

  11. New

Chat that works through multi-step questions

The assistant now plans and runs several steps to answer harder questions, streams its progress as it goes, and returns more accurate, more reliable results.

  12. Improved

    A better connections page

Managing your database connections is easier, with a clearer layout for adding, testing and editing them.

  13. New

    AI for Database launches

Connect a database, ask questions in plain English, build dashboards and set up alerts, all without writing SQL.
