Terms of Service
Last updated: March 16, 2026
Welcome to AI for Database ("we," "us," or "the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
1. Overview of the Service
AI for Database is an AI-powered platform that lets you connect your databases, ask questions in natural language, build dashboards, and automate workflows. To provide these features, the Service processes your queries and database metadata using third-party AI model providers.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. How We Process Your Data
4.1 Data You Provide
When you use the Service, you may provide database connection credentials, natural language queries, and configuration settings. We use this information solely to operate and improve the Service for you.
4.2 Third-Party AI Providers
To generate SQL queries, summaries, and other AI-powered outputs, we route your prompts and relevant database metadata (such as schema information and query results) through third-party AI model providers, including but not limited to services accessed via OpenRouter and direct API providers. These providers process your data according to their own terms and privacy policies. We select providers that offer commercial API terms prohibiting the use of API inputs for model training, but we cannot guarantee how third-party providers handle data once it leaves our systems.
4.3 Bring Your Own Model (BYOM)
The Service may allow you to configure your own AI model endpoints by providing a URL and API key ("Custom Model"). When you use a Custom Model, your queries and data are sent directly to the endpoint you specify. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your Custom Model provider’s terms, security practices, and data handling meet your requirements. We have no control over, and accept no liability for, how Custom Model providers process your data.
4.4 Your Responsibility
You are responsible for determining whether the Service is appropriate for your data, including any sensitive, regulated, or personal data. You should not connect databases containing data you are not authorized to process through third-party AI services. If your organization has specific compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS), it is your responsibility to evaluate whether the Service meets those requirements before use.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users’ accounts, databases, or data.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Use the Service to build a competing product or service.
- Transmit malware, exploits, or any harmful code through the Service.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your data and any content you create using the Service (such as dashboards and saved queries). We claim no ownership over your data.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI-generated outputs will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. You should always review AI-generated SQL queries before executing them against production databases.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall AI for Database, its founders, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or damages arising from:
- The use or inability to use the Service.
- Any actions taken by third-party AI model providers with respect to your data.
- Data processed through Custom Model endpoints you configure.
- Inaccurate, incomplete, or harmful AI-generated outputs, including SQL queries that modify or delete data.
- Unauthorized access to your account or database connections resulting from compromised credentials.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50), whichever is greater.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AI for Database, its founders, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your data or content processed through the Service.
- Any third-party claims related to data you route through AI providers (whether our default providers or Custom Models you configure).
- Your failure to comply with applicable data protection or privacy laws.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with and relies on third-party services, including AI model providers, cloud infrastructure, authentication providers, and payment processors. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies.
11. Subscription and Billing
Certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Billing terms, pricing, and plan details are presented at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, and we may delete your account data after a reasonable retention period.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
