## Workflow Triggers

Triggers determine when a workflow runs. AI for Database currently supports scheduled and manual workflows.

### Scheduled Triggers

Run a published workflow on a time-based schedule using the friendly schedule editor.

**Preset schedules:**

*   Every N minutes (minimum 5)
*   Every hour
*   Every day at a specific time
*   Every week on a specific day

### Manual Triggers

Manual workflows run when you click **Run draft** in the UI or call `POST /api/v1/workflows/:id/run`. Manual runs use the current draft and execute its actions.

### Drafts and Published Schedules

Saving never silently activates a workflow. Publishing validates the full action configuration and stores an immutable version for scheduled runs. Editing a live workflow changes only its draft; the existing published version continues to run until you publish again. Every run records its trigger, definition version, query results, action results, and delivery attempts.
