# Create a Dashboard

## Creating Dashboards

Dashboards in AI for Database let you combine multiple queries into a single, live overview. They refresh automatically and can be shared with your team or embedded in other tools.

### Step 1: Create a New Dashboard

Click **Dashboards** in the sidebar, then **New Dashboard**. Give it a name (e.g., "Sales Overview" or "Weekly Ops Report") and an optional description.

### Step 2: Add Widgets

Click **Add Widget** to add a query result to your dashboard. You can:

* **Ask a new question** -- type a natural language question directly in the widget builder.
* **Use a saved query** -- select from your saved queries or query history.
* **Write SQL** -- use raw SQL for maximum control.

Each widget displays its results as a table, chart, or metric card. You can change the visualization type after adding it.

### Step 3: Arrange the Layout

Drag and drop widgets to rearrange them. Resize widgets by dragging their edges. The dashboard uses a responsive grid that adapts to different screen sizes.

Layout options:

* **Full width** -- widget spans the entire dashboard width
* **Half width** -- two widgets side by side
* **Third width** -- three widgets in a row

### Step 4: Configure Refresh

Each dashboard has a refresh schedule:

* **Manual** -- only refreshes when you click the refresh button
*   **Every 5 minutes** -- for real-time monitoring
* **Every hour** -- for operational dashboards
* **Daily** -- for daily reports

Individual widgets can also have their own refresh schedule if you need different frequencies.

### Step 5: Style and Theme

Customize your dashboard appearance:

* Choose a title font size and color
* Add section dividers between groups of widgets
* Set a dashboard-level date range filter that applies to all widgets
* Enable dark mode (default) or light mode for presentations

### Dashboard Templates

AI for Database includes starter templates for common use cases:

* **SaaS Metrics** -- MRR, churn, active users, conversion rates
* **E-commerce** -- orders, revenue, top products, inventory
* **Support** -- ticket volume, response time, resolution rate, CSAT
* **Marketing** -- leads, campaigns, conversion funnel

Select a template when creating a new dashboard and customize it for your data.
